About

About: CodeRally 7.0 is the flagship competitive programming hackathon organized by the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT). Designed for participants of all skill levels through a tier-based competition structure, the competition combines Training Weeks, Selection Weeks, a 12-Hour Virtual Hackathon, a 24-Hour Grand Finale Hackathon, and an Award Ceremony, complemented by interactive workshops throughout the journey to strengthen problem-solving, analytical thinking, and teamwork.

Prizes

The competition features a total prize pool of over LKR 250,000, with cash prizes awarded to the Champion, 1st Runner-Up, and 2nd Runner-Up teams. In addition to the main cash prizes, participants will receive recognition for outstanding performances across the Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner competitive tiers, alongside special awards presented for exceptional achievements throughout the event. All competitors will also be honored with official certificates in recognition of their participation and achievement.

Scoring

Each challenge features a pre-determined score, with a participant's final mark depending entirely on the number of test cases their code submission successfully passes. If multiple solutions are submitted for a single challenge, the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved, though game challenges are an exception where the score is determined by the very last code submission. Participants are ranked based on their total score, and in the event of a tie where two or more competitors achieve the same score, the ranking is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution that resulted in that higher score.
